Yesterday I had 796 followers, today I have 1,266, a jump of nearly 500 in 22 hours, this time last week the account had 1 follower. I have posted 30 tweets, not a single one has been that interesting, only one has been retweeted, only one has been replied to.

I am following 1,450, a number I will pare down this evening (I am giving people 24 hours to follow back) this evening I will follow another batch and see how many followers that brings in.

There is surprisingly little work involved in gaining the followers, I would say maybe 20 minutes a day, TwitterKarma (http://dossy.org/twitter/karma/)    and tweepi.com/ doing most of the work for me. I don’t read the twitterstream that often or that intently, there is nothing there that grabs my attention, certainly nothing that would hold my attention.

I have received no offers of ads from Ad.ly, I’m curious as to whether that will change as the account gains followers.

I have said a couple of times that I don’t think anyone is reading the tweets of the people I follow but obviously enough people are so as to make it worthwhile continuing so I am going to start linking to web pages, be they blogs or pages where people have anything to sell. If anyone has a blog/website with a counter on it who would like me to advertise their site 5 or 6 times a day in exchange for their page visit statistics please get in touch.
